Western National Parks Association (WNPA) invites book lovers across the world to celebrate Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 24. Readers, authors, and publishers have celebrated Independent Bookstore Day, an annual celebration of independent bookstores and the communities they inspire, since 2014. WNPA will join the festivities with sales, events, and giveaways held online and at The National Parks Store in Oro Valley, Arizona. From Thursday, April 22, through Monday, April 26, readers can take advantage of exclusive discounts both in-person at The National Parks Store or online at store.wnpa.org. All books will be 20% off, including already discounted titles. The National Parks Store is offering 15% off the entire store, including handmade Mexican and American Indian crafts, and online shoppers can get 15% off the collectibles category. On Independent Bookstore Day only (April 24), attendees can enjoy family-friendly activities, giveaways, and special offers in addition to book bargains. For directions and a complete list of events and activities, visit www.wnpa.org/independent-bookstore-day. WNPA is committed to visitor safety and is following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines regarding COVID-19. All in-person attendees at The National Parks Store over the age of two will be required to wear masks, and social distancing will be enforced. The number of people allowed in the store and event space will be regulated, so attendees may be asked to wait outside on a shaded patio before entry.
