Tucson International Airport (TUS) has served the greater Tucson area for more than 70 years. TUS is always open for individuals and cargo in need of transportation.
Less than 10 miles south of downtown Tucson and roughly 25 miles south of Oro Valley, TUS is convenient to major businesses, scenic destinations and a rich culture that could only be found in Southern Arizona.
The Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) operates TUS, the region’s major commercial airport, as well as Ryan Airfield (RYN), a modern general aviation airport outside of Tucson city limits.
The TAA’s mission is to provide a sustainable airport system and constantly pursue initiatives that promote and grow business opportunities. As a contributing catalyst to economic development in the region, the Authority does not receive any local tax dollars. Operations are funded through revenues from parking, space rentals, land leases, fuel sales, airline landing fees, and concessions.
TUS stretches across more than 8,300 acres of land, which includes 130 separate buildings that provide nearly 2.5 million square feet of space. TAA continually looks for opportunities to acquire contiguous and nearby properties that are important for strategic and long-range purposes.
Ryan Airfield, located 14 miles southwest of downtown Tucson, covers 1,804 acres and accommodates a wide variety of general aviation activity.
The Authority has a long-term lease with the City of Tucson to operate and manage both airfields.
