About Us

The mission of the Hearts of Gold Police Family Outreach Foundation is to provide financial assistance through programs that uplift and support members of the Tucson Police Department and the greater Southern Arizona law enforcement community.
Hearts of Gold was formed in 2008 when the child of a Tucson Police Department member was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Since inception, Hearts of Gold has given over $520,000 to members of the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Family through our assistance program alone. Our Assistance Program is our primary program that provides financial support to Tucson Police Department members who have suffered a catastrophic illness, injury, or other event causing a financial hardship. We also provide college scholarships, operate a pantry where members can request short term basic necessities during hard times, we adopt a law enforcement family every holiday season and provide $2,500 worth of needed food, clothing, and other necessities to help make ends meet, and offer grant funding for initiatives that improve the health, morale, and overall wellness of Tucson Police Department members. We also provide financial assistance to the families of all Southern Arizona law enforcement officers that have been killed in the line of duty and support other local law enforcement non-profits like the Erik Hite Foundation.
